Enjoy a stress-free excursion to Easdale Island & tick a phenomenal swim venue off of your wish list. You can relax and enjoy the stunning scenery, crystal-clear waters and exhilarating cold water adventure that Easdale Island's quarry pools offer. Seven former slate quarries, flooded in the great storms of 1881, now make for tranquil, turquoise-watered swims, popular with free-divers due to their clarity and host to the World Stone Skimming Championships! Easdale Island is the smallest permanently-inhabited island of the Inner Hebrides and lies 200m off the Island of Seil which itself is connected to the mainland by the 200 year-old Clachan Bridge, the "Bridge over the Atlantic". There is no vehicular access to the Island which is served by a small ferry from Ellenabeich. * Completion of the Cold Water Safety Induction is required for all guided experiences. The Theory of the Cold Water Safety Induction is now available online for those who prefer to learn at their own pace or cannot attend an in-person induction. Visit Education in the website menu and select Essential Guide to Cold Water Therapy & Wild Swimming (Cold Water Safety Induction). * It is always recommended to get a medical check up before starting cold water therapy *The water is cold! Tow floats are essential. Consider bringing a wetsuit if you are not acclimatised. *What to bring, where to meet and everything you need to know will be detailed in your confirmation email. *Access level - Moderate - You will need a level of ability that enables access on to coach & ferry. Total walking involved is approx 1-2 hours and never more than 15-30minutes at a time. Mostly flat grassy terrain. Some pools require a scramble down embankment/across slate. You can easily walk the whole way round in less than an hour. We will leisurely do this, stopping off at some quarries for a swim. As always, dynamic risk assessment shall be ongoing and I will select those safest to access and dip in. We will continually assess our individual states of well-being and will only dip within our limits. There will be no pressure to dip in every spot.
