Terms and Conditions
Important: Please read carefully and share the following terms & conditions with everybody who attends the activity.
1. Payment
Payment is required online, in full, at the time of booking. Any further instructions will follow, via the listed booking email address within 48 hours of the payment (e.g. where to meet and what to bring). Gift cards can also be redeemed at checkout.
2. Cancellation Policy for West Coast Wilding day retreat.
Please note that in the unlikely event of cancellation or postponement by The Cold Water Therapist, payments may be transferred to an alternative date.

Should you fail to attend the session without contact, you will forego full payment.
Should you cancel within 14 days of your booked session, you will forego 50% of the payment.
Should you cancel at any point between booking and up to, but no later than, 14 days before the event start time a session transfer may be offered in the first instance. Any requested refunds will be less 25% of the full cost per person admin and processing fees.
Please contact The Cold Water Therapist if you have to cancel at the earliest opportunity.

Note – events are weather and condition dependent. The Cold Water Therapist will (i) postpone if an event is deemed unsafe and (ii) reserves the right to amend venues, within geographical reason, in favour of safer conditions.
The Cold Water Therapist will not be liable for any loss damage or expense resulting from force majeure or any unforeseen circumstances outside of their control.

3. Insurance and Safety
Due to the nature of outdoor swimming/dipping events – more so in low temperatures - there will always be some degree of risk. For your own safety, it is imperative that you abide by instruction and decision of your guide. The Cold Water Therapist holds public liability insurance and full risk assessments have been carried out to minimise risk. You are required to follow instruction and to not put yourself or others in unnecessary harm through negligence. Events for those aged 18 years or older only. Please also be vigilant on your way to and from swim venues. Access considerations are listed on each service. It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with the activity description before booking. Participants are deemed to have done so and assessed your own level of ability. You must only book if you are able to manage the terrain and conditions on route to the session.

4. Alcohol and Drugs
Do not attend an event if you have alcohol and/or drugs in your system. The Cold Water Therapist also reserves the right to refuse participation to anyone that they believe to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and in such circumstances, no refunds shall be given.

5. Parental Consent
It is a mandatory requirement for anyone under the age of 18 years to have parental consent to participate in The Cold Water Therapist’s events.

6. Location & Access
The Cold Water Therapist is currently unable to provide transport unless specifically advertised. Confirmation of meeting point (to include Google maps pin and postcode where possible) will be sent via email once your booking is confirmed.
A degree of mobility is required for most venues. Please advise on your medical form of any access concerns.

7. Photography
Please make it known if you do not wish any images captured on the day to be used for The Cold Water Therapist website, emails and/or associated social media accounts.

8. Social Swims
Social swims are to help you to build a community and find & make swim friends. They are not structured sessions. Kit and equipment is not provided. You must have swam outdoors before, either with The Cold Water Therapist or elsewhere. 100% of monies raised will fund free sessions for those in need. The Cold Water Therapist will work alongside local charities to find beneficiaries. Full in water safety and rescue ratio's will be met by a team of qualified experts, to include The Cold Water Therapist.

9. Mixed Gender Session
The Cold Water Therapist does not ask any person to disclose their gender. All sessions are/may be mixed gender.

10. Wild Bathing Sauna T's & C's
Damage and deep cleaning fee: Wild Bathing reserves the right to charge an additional fee to cover
the costs of any repairs or deep cleaning required for the sauna or any of Wild Bathing’s equipment
which occurs as a result of your (if you are booking an individual seat) or any member of your
booking party’s (if you are booking multiple seats) misuse of the sauna, negligence or failure to
comply with these terms and conditions. Wild Bathing reserves the right to charge this fee to the
person named on the order.
1. Sauna Use Terms
All persons using the Wild Bathing Sauna do so at their own risk. We ask that you contact your GP if
at all in doubt about safely using the sauna. We advise you seek your GP’s advice if any of the
following conditions apply to you (this is not an exhaustive list):
- If you’ve had a heart attack or stroke
- You have asthma or breathing conditions
- You have epilepsy or diabetes
- Are pregnant
- Are prone to dizziness or fainting
- Have an infectious disease or condition
- Are under the effects of alcohol, illegal drugs or psychoactive substances
- Have an open wound
- Are taking any medications
- Are generally feeling unwell
In accordance with diving safety guidelines individuals who have undertaken dives exceeding 10
metres in depth are advised NOT to use the sauna within 48 hours post dive due to the elevated risk of
decompression sickness.
All users must inform Wild Bathing of any conditions which may affect their safe use of the sauna to
an on-site operator before making use of the sauna.
If any sauna user has any medical conditions for which they require medication, the sauna user is
responsible for ensuring they bring the required medications. This includes, without limitation,
EpiPens, inhalers, pharmaceutical drugs, prescription drugs, insulin and any other medications.
Wild Bathing reserves the right to refuse admission to intoxicated persons or for other reasons that
may be deemed a health and safety risk and any refusal shall not entitle any user or any person who
has booked the sauna to a refund of the booking fee in whole or in part other than at Wild Bathing’s
discretion.
Sauna users should not spend more than 15 minutes at a time in the sauna. We recommend
spending 5-12 minutes in the sauna before exiting to cool down and rehydrate, especially for those
who do not use saunas regularly who should build up tolerance over a few sauna sessions. However,
sauna users are responsible for ensuring they use the sauna safely and do not put themselves at risk
and must vacate the sauna if they at any time feel nauseous, dizzy, faint, drowsy or otherwise unwell
to cool down and rehydrate if required.
2. Sauna Etiquette & Safety Rules
A maximum of 6 people can use the sauna at any one time. No users are permitted beyond this
capacity. Wild Bathing reserves the right to refuse entry to the sauna or to eject users who do not
follow these rules.
- Remove shoes, sandals, or flip-flops before entering the sauna.
- Remove jewellery and avoid wearing swimwear with metal fastenings before entering the sauna
to limit the risk of burns.
- Electronics and other equipment which is at risk of rusting, water damage or heat damage are
not permitted inside the sauna. Any use of such equipment inside the sauna is at the sauna
user’s own risk.
- Enter and exit the sauna safely and taking care to avoid any risks of tripping or slipping.
- Keep access points clear to ensure safe and swift exit for others.
- All sauna users must sit on a clean towel when inside the sauna to minimise the risk of burns.
Users who do not do so at their own risk.
- Do not touch or sit on any part of the stove, stove cage, or rocks and follow the operators’
instructions on how to pour water onto the hot rocks. Only use the provided ‘sauna water’ on
the hot rocks. Do not add your own essential oils onto the sauna rocks.
- Alcohol, nudity, and smoking are prohibited inside the sauna. Changing facilities are not provided
by Wild Bathing and may not be available at the sauna site and all sauna users are required to
ensure they dress appropriately for using the sauna and travelling to and from the sauna site.
- Respect the sauna space and others sharing. Time spent in a quiet small space for heat therapy
can be more enjoyable for everyone in a peaceful quieter state.
- Glass or metal containers are not allowed inside the sauna and sauna users are required to leave
these outside of the sauna; If a sauna user does not have a water container they may use the
provided water cups.
- No food or drinks other than water is permitted inside the sauna.
- Do not bring sharp or breakable objects inside the sauna.
- Keep well hydrated before sauna use, in between cooling off
outside and re-entering the sauna
throughout your session.
- Age Restrictions: Children between the age of 8 and 18 are not permitted to use the sauna unless they are accompanied by an Adult Family
member. Parent or Guardian only. The Parent or Guardian must be present at all times while children are using the sauna and are responsible for
ensuring the safety of any children making use of the sauna. The ratio of child to adult is 1:1 in the sauna at any time. Children under the age of 8 are not permitted to use the sauna.
- Wild Bathing is not responsible for the damage or loss of customers' property at the sauna site
not caused by Wild Bathing or any person acting on behalf of Wild Bathing.
- Using a body of water as a ‘cold plunge’ before or after using the sauna is at your own risk; any
sauna user who wishes to use a body of water for a cold plunge is responsible for ensuring they
are a capable swimmer and can handle exposure to cold temperatures and other potential
dangers. After exposure to cold water do not enter the sauna immediately as there is a risk of
dizziness and fainting. Transition slowly and acclimatise between the thermal shifts. For

3. Group Bookings
If booking on behalf of a group, it is the RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PERSON BOOKING to ensure all sauna users
are aware of our terms and conditions and the medical form before the day they sauna in order for them to check If they need a letter from their GP.
All sauna users will be required to read and sign these terms and conditions along with our medical form which will be issued by the sauna attendant on checking in and before entering the sauna.
4. Right to Refuse Admission
We reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone who does not abide by these terms and
conditions, intoxicated persons or for other reasons that may pose a health and safety risk to any
person present at the sauna site.
If we require to refuse admission or eject anyone in your booking party from the sauna, this will not
entitle you to a refund or discount on the booking fee.
5. Liability
Notwithstanding the below, nothing in these terms and conditions reduces or limits Wild Bathing’s
liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of Wild Bathing or its representatives,
fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or any losses which cannot be excluded under applicable laws
in Scotland.
Wild Bathing will not be responsible or liable to any sauna user for:
- any medical or health conditions which are caused by or exacerbated using the sauna
- any loss or personal injury arising from any sauna user’s non-compliance with these terms and
conditions
- loss or damage to personal property or belongings at the sauna site not caused by Wild Bathing
or any authorised representative of Wild Bathing
- any cancellations required by Wild Bathing as a result of circumstances beyond the reasonable
control of Wild Bathing which could not have been reasonably anticipated or avoided, including
without limitation: fire, flood, or other natural disasters; adverse or extreme weather conditions;
contamination of the sauna by blood, vomit or bodily fluids; malicious damage to the sauna;
epidemic or pandemic; or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction.
