Available 2025 dates: August, 11 - Monday 09:00-19:00 Full day minibus trip with guided swims/dips The Legendary Linns - Linn of Dee & Linn of Quoich. Immerse yourself in the wild landscapes of the Cairngorms National Park. A favourite picnic spot of Queen Victoria and a hotspot for iconic Scottish wildlife, including red deer, red squirrels, golden eagles and black grouse. These epic swim locations require knowledge! I'll be providing a unique and educational experience to help you to stay safe and informed. Learn how to read the water, identify hidden dangers, and choose the safest spots to swim. Starting at the Linn of Dee, one of Scotland’s mightiest rivers, abruptly reduced to a width of just a few feet as it squeezes through a 300 metre-long gorge. The sometimes churning waters have carved out beautiful shapes in the bedrock and if conditions are right, we will be swimming through it. If conditions are unsuitable we will plan to swim further down in the lowland river. Next, we hop back on the minibus and head up to the often quieter, Linn of Quoich. Famous for it's Punch Bowl, a natural hole in a rock midstream that was used as a punchbowl at the end of hunting deer in the neighbouring forest. This spot offers a picturesque swim point downstream from waterfalls, shallow pools and bubbly flumes. Be safe in the knowledge that I know the routes, safety considerations and entry points. * Completion of the Water Safety Induction required before joining these adventures *Transport is included from Linlithgow *Access level - Moderate - Access on to, and off, minibus required. Some uneven, woodland terrain. Total walking involved is approximatley 1 hour and never more than 25minutes at a time. Minimal incline. Some pools require a slight scramble down embankment/across rocks, *The water is cold!. Tow floats for some dips are essential (I can loan these). Consider wearing a wetsuit if you are not acclimatised. *What to bring, where to meet and everything you need to know will be detailed in your confirmation email. *PLEASE NOTE - exact swim & dip locations will vary each trip depending on weather and conditions.
