Available 2025 dates: August 19, Tuesday - 09:30-14:00 approx *FULLY BOOKED* *More dates will be released when the August/September calendars are published. Half Day (approx 9.30-2 incl travel from Linlithgow) VERY LIMITED places due to the nature of the environment. *FITNESS LEVEL* - this session requires a good level of fitness, flexibility and mobility. Please read the access info below. You should be able to comfortably walk, unaided for at least 1 mile, up and down steep terrain. Climbing over obstacles may be required. Wading through rocky water is inevitable. Good upper body strength required. A bucket-list swim for any outdoor swimmer, Finnich Glen. Known as the Devil's Pulpit (which actually refers to the grassy rock) that legend says the devil would sit on and address his followers with the blood-red water beneath his feet! Finnich Glen is a deep sandstone gorge (hence the red appearance to the water) which radiates brightly as the sun shines down. It's popularity has grown over recent years due to film and TV appearances and it can be a very busy beauty spot - hence this is a weekday visit. Swimming through thousands-of-years-old rock formations, where the water glows - you'll want your camera! Length of time in the water could be up to 30mins. * Completion of the Water Safety Induction required before joining these adventures *What to bring, where to meet and everything you need to know will be detailed in your confirmation email. *The water is cold! Consider wearing a wetsuit if you are not acclimatised. *Tow floats essential *Transport is included from Linlithgow or pick up point on direct route. *Allow up to 2 hours at venue. *If you're a group of 3 or 4, a bespoke date can be arranged. *Access level - Difficult - 20min walk from car. Woodland, with extremely steep stairs, Glen terrain and water wading required once descended in to Finnich Glen. Alternative access route requires climbing over 4-5ft obstacles.
