Service Description

January 21, Edinburgh - Midday (All TBC and subject to change) Tim's Back Story: I am Tim Crossin a Father of 2, Grandfather of 5 and a former Royal Marine Commando. In my life I have faced many challenges both mental and physical. Being diagnosed with cancer 4 times, undergoing chemotherapy and living with cancer since 2016 is probably one of the hardest, after having to tell my children. Cancer and the chemotherapy has tested me emotionally and pushed me to my mental and physical limit. Thankfully I have been supported by my family, my friends and the family of the ‘Royal Marines’ through it all. Wanting to give something back and help organisations who help others, I decided to start fundraising for charities. In 2023 I completed the 1st around Britain Cold Dip Commando Challenge. With the spread of the cancer I want to do another challenge while I still can, so its time to dig out my Commando Budgie Smugglers and Green Beret and get ready for the...RETURN of the ‘COLD DIP COMMANDO' Visit www.colddipcommando.co.uk for the full story and Tim's chosen charities. UPDATE: Sadly Tim passed away, just a few days ago, as I write this. We won't get to join Tim on his fundraising crusade but his family have asked that we continue with the tour in Tim's honor and they plan to carry out the tour between them. For January's Cold Club we will join the dip, currently scheduled for Tuesday 21st January, 2025 at Midday in Edinburgh. Please note this is subject to change as his family manage the schedule. In 2023 the Edinburgh dip was at South Queensferry so that's a likely venue for 2025. I will update those booked via email. 100% of contributions will be made to Tim's Just Giving fund. Please contribute what you can. I will collect the contributions and donate to Tim's Just Giving page on behalf of us all. **This is different to my usual sessions. This event is not led by me. I am simply organising, raising awareness and supporting the tour. This is to support a charity fundraiser in Tim's honor. I will be there but you dip at your own risk.** * Your attendance will be fully confirmed once your medical/risk acceptance form has been checked * Tow floats and neoprene gloves recommended * Water shoes/old trainers will be required * A full email detailing where we meet and what to bring will be sent out once arrangements are fully confirmed by the family.
